MANIX /// Coolin’ Down EP

0

A return to the original sound of Hardcore/ Jungle from one of the leading artists at Reinforced Records.

MANIX, of 4Hero fame, has just released a new EP, Coolin’ Down.‘ This release follows last year’s ‘Living For The Future’ and offers 4 brand new classic breakbeat tracks.

The Ep is full of the same energy and style that made MANIX so crucial to DJs and Ravers of the era. Packed with all new original fresh tunes but still sounding like a lost recording from 1993, anthemic pianos, big bass lines and breaks.

Thriftworks /// Fade

The glitchy soundscapes of Flying Lotus and the poetic flow of MF Doom. ‘Reggie feat. Mythicalifornian’ is a trippy, cosmic number from the new album by Thriftworks.

Nuage /// Prints Of You

New Nuage! New Nuage! New Nuage! The followup to his previous Translation Recs outing (“So Long”) is out today and what a phenomenal piece of work! There’s moments where he melts the listener into a dreamy sense of ease and other moments where he steps up the pace and livens the room with vibrant rhythms. Vocalist Ellie returns on track “Promises” and long time collaborated Gerwin features on the bouncy “Slow Moves” and smooth roller “Lifestyle.”

Taylor McFerrin /// Early Riser

0

The offspring of soul legend Bobby McFerrin brings us a trip back to the 70’s decade for the LA Beat conscious. Taylor McFerrin downplays  the genre’s heart-on-sleeve emoting, and emphasises its more psychedelic sonic features. With drifting keys and echoing vocals the results are breathtaking. A gorgeous record, likely to be seen as a touchstone in years to come.

Nina /// My Mistake

0

Aztec Records have released a treat.  ‘My Mistake’ is the new EP from beautiful Berlin born singer Nina.  With a heavy bass beneath high pitched vocals, tracks like ‘My Mistake’ and ‘Dark Rider’ give you an intense motion of flying through the air being carried away by waves uplifting your spirits, taking you into another dimension!  Nina’s vocals are amazing.  The sync between her high vocals and the heavy instrumentals are next to perfect.  They both compliment each other.  Especially on the Bright Light remix version of ‘Dark Rider’, which gives off a deep club record.  The whole EP gives you a mix and blend of indie, electronic and a hint of rock all fused together with Nina’s electric vocals as the icing on top.  Definitely an artist to keep your ear on!  ‘My Mistake’ by Nina is out now.
