Adam Haddour returns with a moving EP, ‘Let Me Land’, with an introspective electronic pop track ‘Icarus’

Algerian-Canadian artist Adam Haddour is recently released his highly-anticipated EP, Let Me Land, signaling a notable shift in his musical trajectory. Recognized for his unique blend of R&B-pop fusion, Adam’s sound has evolved to embrace emotive storytelling and cutting-edge production. Beginning his journey with an EP recorded in 2018, Adam became a fixture in London’s music scene before the pandemic prompted a reevaluation of his musical direction. The result is Let Me Land, a five-track exploration of modern romance, exemplified by the brooding electronic pop track ‘Icarus’.

Crafted in collaboration with producer Charlie Zhu and studio engineer Charlie Rolfe, Adam’s sound has been meticulously honed to deliver a fresh, genre-blending experience. Returning to the stage with a headline set at Colours Hoxton, Adam previewed singles from Let Me Land, following the success of his 2022 hit, ‘Forbidden Fruit’. As he invites listeners on a journey through the highs and lows of love, Adam emerges as an artist on the brink of a breakthrough, guided by his soulful vocals and evocative storytelling.

Adam shared: “Icarus is the final song on my five-track EP ‘Let Me Land’. It completes the narrative of a failed love cycle that the tape explores. The tape cycles through all the emotions of love; it starts with the promise of a new-found love in ‘Left the Party’. Icarus is about the inevitable low when romance crashes and burns.”

Cleveland’s own label, 904L World Class Sound, has unveiled its third EP, expanding its musical repertoire. Leading the charge is label founder Sound On Tape with his latest release, ‘Gods Don’t Die’.

Featuring a blend of reflective keys, intricate broken beats, and soulful gospel vocals by Kyle Kidd, ‘Gods Don’t Die’ offers a versatile track suitable for diverse settings. Hailing from Cleveland, OH, Sound On Tape draws inspiration from a rich tapestry of influences, including El-B, Burial, Mr. Fingers, Sticky, as well as revered Black gospel icons like CL Franklin, Pastor T.L. Barrett, the Youth for Christ Choir, and Mahalia Jackson.

His debut EP, Hush Harbors, released through 904L World Class Sound, showcases his distinctive fusion of electronic elements rooted in Garage, 2-Step, Jazz, and beyond. This was followed by the label’s second release, featuring Sullivan!’s captivating and hypnotic minimal house EP.

Multi-platinum producer, and DJ, R3HAB has just unleashed a new remix of Acid Arab’s infectiously exciting track, ‘Habaytak’. For the last fifteen years, the musician, Fadil El Ghoul, better known by the R3HAB moniker, has remixed the likes of Rihanna, Drake, Taylor Swift, and Calvin Harris, put out original tracks with huge collabs, and has dominated the mainstream whilst staying true to his Dutch-Moroccan heritage. Out now via [PIAS] Électronique, R3HAB gave the Eastern-inspired sound of the original track, featuring Ghizlane Melih’s vocals, a darker, faster-paced twist. Trailblazing through the original with his vision but never forgetting to intensify Acid Arab’s existing builds and breaks, R3HAB heightens the vocal track to spine-tingling levels. Incorporating explicit House elements and throbbing electronic bass, this club banger exaggerates the source material’s production whilst keeping Ghizlane Melih’s gorgeous vocals in the spotlight. In doing so, he not only injects the beats with his unique brand of thumping House, but he also pays homage to the Morrocan diva’s heritage and influences. Ari Amun is an American singer-songwriter based in both Atlanta and New York City. Priding herself on her original but inspired vocal style, she adds a differentiating tone to mainstream pop and R&B grooves. Raised in Powder Springs, Georgia, Amun knew she needed to branch out to greater landscapes. Once accepted to NYU’s Contemporary Vocal program she knew she was solidifying her devotion to her craft. Now in her sophomore year of college, Ari Amun can’t wait to share her growing songbook with the world. Watch the new video below.

The new track, released on 3 November 2023, sees Amun’s soulful delivery shining atop a hard-hitting house beat from featured producer Madhi. Leaping across genre lines, ‘Human Nature’ lands somewhere special between the R&B and Pop spectrums. The featured single incorporates Afro-Jazz improvisations with spell-bindingly bluesy soul. As the chorus drops in, it’s met by a funky bassline determined to keep you moving.

“I’m very proud of the songs I wrote and produced in high school as I wouldn’t be the songwriter and singer I am without them, but at the same time, I’m excited to release music that’s more aligned with my artistry. I have worked very hard over the past couple of years, especially on who I am as a vocalist, and I feel “Human Nature” is a great opener to what’s to come.”
